How can you NOT feel sympathy for this poor woman?  33-year-old Laura Fernee of London is just TOO GOOD LOOKING.  According to Laura, her LOOKS have RUINED HER CAREER.

Laura has a graduate degree in science, and had a pretty good job as a scientific researcher.  We're not sure what branch, because the places that covered this story clearly weren't into it for the details. 

But Laura says she had to quit a few years ago because she says her male coworkers just hit on her and didn't respect her, her female coworkers didn't like her . . . and it crippled her career.

Quote, "I wanted them to recognize my achievements and my professionalism but all they saw was my face and body.  Even when I was in a laboratory in scrubs with no makeup, they still [hit] on me because of my natural attractiveness."

Laura says her parents now pay her rent and bills while she figures out what to do.

This year's "Billboard Music Awards" went down last night . . . and when it was all said and done, TAYLOR SWIFT came out on top, taking home EIGHT awards.

In all, there were 45 awards, and 10 of them were handed out during the show.

Here's a rundown of the highlights:

1.  During an acceptance speech, Taylor Swift told the crowd, quote, "You're the longest and best relationship I ever had." 

2.  JUSTIN BIEBER was honored with the first-ever "Milestone Award".  But as he walked to the stage, there was a lot of BOOING along with the cheering.

When he got up front, he launched into a very defensive speech that included this:  Quote, "I'm 19 years old, I think I'm doing a pretty good job and basically, from my heart, I really wanna say it should really be about the music . . .

"It should be about the craft, the craft that I'm making.  This is not a gimmick.  I'm an artist, and I should be taken seriously and all this other bull should not be spoken of."

3.  KID ROCK tried to be all COOL by calling people out for lip-synching while he was presenting an award.  He said, quote, "Let's give it up for lip-syncing under pre-recorded music!"

He also seemed to be ON SOMETHING, or maybe he was just pretending to be.

4.  While MIGUEL was performing, he jumped from the stage to the catwalk . . . however, he wasn't able to clear it cleanly.  Instead, he landed on some girl's head, BUTT FIRST.  We're assuming she's OK.
