On Friday morning we were able to bring Marcelo home! Hope and I were so happy we finally had our baby boy all to ourselves. We started figuring out our routine with feeding and changing him. He did pee all over the mirror in the restroom, only the second time he's peed while changing his diaper. My mom came over to help us out a bit since I had to work an event that evening. When I got home, Hope had made dinner. It was chicken thighs with potatoes and veggies. Despite it tasting so good, I think it made me sick. I woke up Saturday morning not feeling too good. I thought I was just tired and could shrug it off, but I was wrong!
I ended going to work and started feeling worse and worse as the day progressed. It wouldn't have been that big of a deal, but we had family come in from out of town and everyone was coming over to spend time with Marcelo that night. Needless to say, when I got home I was almost in tears because the pain was so intense! I took some medicine and went to sleep. However, I didn't get to sleep too long before everyone started showing up. My Uncle George is pretty loud, add in some good friends of the family, and I just wasn't going to get to sleep through it. So I ended up going out to the living room to spend time with everyone. That only lasted a couple of hours before I had to go back to bed. I was happy that everyone got to spend time with Marcelo, but was kinda sad I didn't get to enjoy all of the fun and delicious food.
Sunday I woke up feeling a lot better and got to enjoy my day with Hope and Marcelo. Craziest part of the day was when we were changing him. He was trying to wake up from a nap and Hope insisted we change his diaper. As we were changing him, he started to fully wake up. Once he did, he let out a big grunt and squirted poop across the bathroom and hit the shower curtain. While it was kinda gross, I was really impressed with the distance he got. All I can say, is that I have one healthy baby boy!
