Fans of Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice were furious after the Recording Academy falsely announced both rappers won a Grammy.

On Sunday afternoon, February 4, the Recording Academy's X/Twitter account revealed the winners of over 80 categories during the GRAMMY Premiere ceremony at the Peacock Theater. During the rap category, the livestream showed presenter Jimmy Jam as he announced Killer Mike had won the award for Best Rap Song. However, the Recording Academy mistakenly dubbed Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice as the winner for their song "Barbie World." Fans who immediately noticed the post-and-delete were outraged.

"This is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to Nicki Minaj & Ice Spice," another fan account posted.

“Currently waiting for you to explain what happened with the Best Rap Song situation,” one fan wrote.

This would've been the first time either artist had won a Grammy. Minaj has received a total of 12 nominations throughout her 15-year career, but has yet to receive a trophy. Meanwhile, Ice Spice received her first-ever nominations in categories like Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her collaboration with Taylor Swift "Karma" (Remix). Neither of them won last night, and the Barbz were not happy.

"I’m soooo confused," one fan vented. "The recording Academy has #BarbieWorld as the winner for best rap song at the Grammys, but deleted the tweet and said Killer Mike won. This is exactly what @NickiMinaj be talking about. Shenanigans behind the scenes."

So far, neither Nicki Minaj nor Ice Spice have commented on the mishap.
